A tragic note from the ever exciting world of officiating. As discussed earlier, and to be discussed often, I have an unhealthy obsession with officiating at all levels in all sports. Well, sad news over the weekend as one of the best, Steve Welmer, was injured during the Kansas-Michigan State game. We all know Welmer as the large, bald, pants-adjusting, simply awesome official. Saturday was not his finest moment.
That's Tom Izzo and Bill Self discussing the injury. Let's hope the result of this broken bone is not the same fate of my last trip to Prairie Meadows, where a horse..ummm, lost a wheel. For those playing KYDOO- "Know your division one officials," the other officials were the venerable, Ed "The Show" Hightower, and the quiet up-and-comer, Dan Dorian.

I'm not the type to wish injury upon people but Welmer has had this coming for a long long time.
BTW Blum, this post proves my point that you are officially out of control with your love for the zebras.

I won't allow you to disparage one of the world's best officials in that manner. Steve Welmer belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of officials, no questions asked.
